Algemene informatie: Andalusië is de zonnige, culturele ziel van Spanje, bekend om zijn geschiedenis, gastvrijheid, flamenco, Moorse monumenten en schitterende kusten. In de regio Andalusië ligt de toeristenbestemming de Costa del Sol, de Costa del Sol ligt weer in de provincie Málaga, in het zuiden van Spanje. Andalusië heeft diverse kustlijnen waarvan de bekendste de Costa del Sol. De Costa del Sol wordt het meest bezocht door toeristen maar de Costa de la Luz met zijn prachtige natuur en stranden en Costa Tropical (subtropische kust bij Granada/Almeria zijn ook zeer de moeite waard om te bezoeken. De belangrijkste economische sector is het toerisme. Jaarlijks bezoeken ongeveer 30 miljoen toeristen Andalusië, vooral de Costa del Sol, Costa de la Luz, Sevilla, Granada en Córdoba zijn erg in trek. Vanwege het gunstige klimaat doet de landbouw het hier ook erg goed. Hier worden voornamelijk olijfolie, citrusvruchten, groenten, fruit en wijnbouw geproduceerd.

Ligging: Andalusië grenst in het noorden aan Extremadura en Castilië-La Mancha, in het oosten aan Murcia, in het westen aan Portugal en Atlantische Oceaan en in het zuiden aan de Straat van Gibraltar en de Middellandse Zee.
Klimaat: Het klimaat van Andalusië is gevarieerd, maar overwegend mediterraan met lokale verschillen door hoogte en ligging. Aan de Costa's heerst er een Mediterraan / subtropisch klimaat. Met zomerse temperaturen tussen de 25-35 graden (soms hoger). In het binnenland kunnen de zomers extreem heet zijn tussen de 35-45 graden. In de bergen is het weer in de zomer erg aangenaam vanwege de hoogteverschillen. De temperatuur komt uit tussen de 20-25 graden.
Beste Reistijd: Het ligt eraan welk gebied je wilt bezoeken maar de beste reistijd voor de Costa's zijn de maanden mei, juni, september en oktober. De temperaturen zijn lager en het wordt niet overlopen door het toerisme. Alhoewel het aan de Costa de la Luz iets koeler kan zijn dan aan de Costa del Sol vanwege de invloed van de Atlantische Oceaan.
